“A few years ago, we were fortunate that Johnnie Walker recognised the prestige of being associated with the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies brand, and has been a partner for the annual awards event for a number of years. With our extension of the Top 100 Companies brand through the Leaders on the Move tour series, and the ethos that it represents in bringing South Africans closer to their aspirations, we’re delighted that Johnnie Walker has extended its partnership for the next two events,” says Taryn Westoby, head of the Times Media Events division.
“The Leaders on the Move mentorship programme is a true reflection of the values of the Johnnie Walker brand which are heavily cemented on encouraging and celebrating progress. Our partnership with Sunday Times is largely driven by the desire to affect measurable social change by creating a unique platform where a new generation of business men and women can gain access to South Africa’s top business minds. This is undoubtedly a great opportunity for aspirant, young entrepreneurs to actively partake in robust business engagements which aims to empower and encourage them to ‘Keep Walking’ towards their dreams. It’s indeed a privilege for us to be a part of such a progressive movement,” says brand manager of Johnnie Walker, Mandy Ntsie.
A series of Sunday Times Leaders on the Move tours are planned monthly throughout 2017. Westoby says, “We often conceptualise bespoke opportunities for brands to engage with the high calibre audiences that Times Media’s titles like the Sunday Times, Business Day, Financial Mail and Sowetan attract. We can connect with these consumers in an impactful way, where brands can really stand in the spotlight and shine. Leaders on the Move is but one of many such initiatives we have in store for the year.”
